Okay, here is J Crew's idea of a website. If you decide to stop by, please tell them that Cybergrrl sent you - I want them to know what a big cheerleader I am for their site - even though they ended up doing it inhouse and didn't hire me. And I even said they could pay part of my fees in clothes! As some of you might know, when I first went on the Web, I said that I wanted to be J Crew's webmistress. Finally, one day, they contacted me via the Web and I was trying ever since to convince them to go on the Web in a big, cool way. We'll see what happens. Cybergrrl J Crew DiaryJune 1996 Awk! Haven't shopped for ages and I'm eyeing my J Crew catalogs, hording them until the moment I am no longer on a tight budget. I've offered to consult J Crew on their new website and even discounted my rate in exchange for J Crew clothes Will Cybergrrl get the job? Will she be able to replenish her waning wardrobe with some new J Crew separates? Can she convince J Crew to include free discs in their clothing shipments to help their customers get online? Stay tuned for the continuing saga of "Cybergrrl Takes J Crew." February 1996 Just heard that they are doing their own web pages without Cybergrrl! How could they? Life is unfair. Should I start shopping at Eddie Bauer? January 1996 Today I wore my new brown cable knit J Crew tights, my favorite plaid wool skirt - the one I wore in court (see my robbery experience although it hasn't gotten to the court part yet). Also wore a ribbed crew long sleeved brown sweater (okay, so I don't remember the actual color name, you know what I mean). Now I would love to say I was wearing my favorite 4 in 1 black winter coat but after 3 years, the old coat is too ratty around the sleeves. I'd love to say I was wearing a new 4 in 1 black winter J Crew coat but unfortunately, when I called to buy one for my birthday, they were out. In fact they were out of every black winter coat. So *confession time* - I bought an Eddie Bauer coat. Hey - not my fault! September 1995 I've been wearing this brown, J Crew cotton knit crew every other day this week - it's getting cooler now here in NYC and I just keep reaching for it. Okay, okay - I'll wash it already. But I have the new catalog (Women's Fall 1995) open and want one of everything. I usually buy 2-3 of the same item but in different colors. Just the way I like to shop. But crisis ---where did I put my J Crew charge card? I can't find it so I can't order anything right now! Help! May 1995 OK, I gave in and bought the wonderful off-white sleeveless dress and matching blazer with the matching pleated pants, too. Taking a chance and wearing more creme colors - bigger dry cleaning bill but I love the look! February 1995 Ok, so I hate to shop in stores and am now addicted to catalog shopping. My favorite catalog is the J Crew catalog and in the past 2 years, I have bought all of my clothes there. Right now, I bet you I am wearing a J Crew turtleneck. |
